26 June- this time 12 years ago, the Wadden Sea was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

9 April 1990 was the founding day of the smallest of the three German Wadden Sea National Parks, the “Nationalpark Hamburgisches Wattenmeer”.

The annual World Heritage Day in Germany was moved to an online platform, where the Wadden Sea and other sites can be explored virtually.

The Wadden Sea World Heritage site is being affected by climate change. The extent, however, is as yet unclear.

On 24-26 September 2019, scientists, managers, policy makers, NGOs and other stakeholders explored opportunities for cooperation and protection of migrating fish.
