The transdisciplinary Wadden Sea World Heritage Summer School offers participants insights into current and important topics and challenges in the field of ecology, nature conservation, tourism and management, and sustainable development in the context of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Led by renowned experts and practitioners, the programme combines lectures, field visits, and collaborative group discussions to explore conservation, management, and governance aspects from a local as well as transnational perspective.

Participants will:

  • Gain insights from expert lectures across various disciplines (environmental sciences, social sciences, economics, law, etc.).
  • Engage in discussions and workshops aimed at developing innovative solutions.
  • Explore the Wadden Sea through on-site visits and field trips.

The Summer School is organized by AWI, FH Westküste, Common Wadden Sea Secretariat, National Park Authority “Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer,” Vadehavet National Park, and Waddenacademie, with support from the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation.
